If your business is based in the European Union (EU), or you process the personal data of EU citizens, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affects you.
The GDPR says you must obtain freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent from your contacts. You also must clearly explain how you plan to use their personal data.
If your company or organization requires some additional guidance and assistance implementing Mailchimp’s new GDPR forms this service is for you. We’ll access your existing Mailchimp account and complete the steps and processes required for collecting consent with Mailchimp’s newly launched GDPR forms.
Once we’ve received and processed your order (within 24 hours, excluding holidays and weekends) you’ll receive an invitation from our agency that will allow you to grant us access to your Mailchimp account. Please include the name(s) of the list(s) of which you’d like to collect consent with GDPR forms.
Enabling GDPR fields on your signup forms does not make you compliant. It’s the first step of the process. To collect consent from new and existing contacts, you’ll set up your forms, create a segment, and send a consent campaign.

Mailchimp provides suggested language for GDPR fields to make it easier for you to create your GDPR-friendly forms. Depending on your marketing plan and data collection policies you might need to edit and/or write your own descriptions to ensure you’re explicit about why you’re collecting data.

GDPR fields are not compatible with embedded forms, form integrations, or Mailchimp Subscribe. Additionally, GDPR fields are only compatible with pop-up forms that use the Modal design format, and either None or Top image alignment.
Marketing Activity Segmentation
We’ll segment your lists based on the marketing permissions you receive from your signup form.
Saved Segments Creation
We’ll create saved segments based on your marketing activities which will auto-update when subscribers join those segments. You’ll be able to access those saved segments at any time making future campaign setup and segmentation a breeze.
Consent Collection From Existing Contacts
We’ll also assist you in collecting GDPR-friendly consent from the contacts you already have. This consists of sending an email to everyone on your list that includes a link to your updated signup form.
Consent Collection Reminder Automation
To ensure maximum response before May 25, we’ll send a reminder a week after your first email. After May 25 2018, you’ll need to use your saved Marketing Permissions segments to communicate only with contacts who have expressly opted-in to your marketing.
